GREAT FOR
Children
While the physical movements of martial arts will teach your child self defense and enhance their coordination, you will also see growth in their focus, concentration, and respect towards others. Martial arts will give your child a strong sense of confidence, but it will also develop their discipline to never misuse their skills. Most importantly, while learning and developing in each of the mentioned areas, your child will be having lots of fun!
Adults
In today's society, it is becoming more important to learn self defense. In our program, you will learn a scientific and practical way to defend yourself using leverage, balance, and momentum. The longer you train as a martial arts practitioner, the more your skills will enhance while increasing your self confidence. Calories will be burned, strength will be gained all while you become more fit physically and mentally. You will find relief from stress and tension by getting your mind away from daily routines by challenging yourself to learn a new skill. We recommend the enjoyment that martial arts can bring to virtually everyone.
WHY 4 STYLES?
While there are literally hundreds of styles of martial arts, there is no perfect style. So we here at T. Kane's teach an excellent cross-section of different styles, each with their own unique benefits. This allows you to receive a broader range of skills and a better understanding of yourself during your martial arts training. Continue reading to learn more about each style.
KICKBOXING
Kickboxing’s main focus is on fighting techniques. Within the regular classes, we focus more on pad training and conditioning workout drills. Borrowing upper body conditioning methods from western boxing while adding the flexibility and leg strength of martial arts will develop power and proper technique.
KENPO KARATE
Kenpo is a modernized version of the ancient Japanese art of Karate-Do ("Open Hand"). It is a practical form of street self defense breaking all potential scenarios down to its core so you can escape unharmed. Kenpo does not require any special athletic ability or skill to begin, but practitioners will see athleticism increase, as well as, timing and strength as skills continue to be sharpened.
WHITE TIGER KUNG FU
White Tiger Kung Fu has roots in China. It uses soft and flowing techniques to take an attacker's strength and momentum, redirect it, and use it against the attacker themselves. It utilizes striking points on the body that do not require much power to disable a much larger attacker. Kung Fu is excellent for improving grace, balance, and coordination.
TAE KWON DO
Tae Kwon Do ("The Way of the Hand and Foot.") originated in Korea and has been featured in the Summer Olympics. It is best known for its power and focus, building strong flexible legs able to execute strong kicks.
FAQ
Answers to Common Questions
WHAT AGES CAN TRAIN?
We have children as young as 4 1/2 that are ready to participate in class, but every individual differs. This is why we offer the 1st month Introductory program, so we can not only allow potential students a chance to see what we offer, but also allow the instructor to identify if younger children are ready to join or not.
HOW OFTEN SHOULD I TRAIN?
We understand that today’s life is a busy one. Here is a breakdown of training schedules and what to expect from each.
1 class per week - Minimum recommendation
Students will progress attending once weekly by ensuring no curriculum is missed by skipping weeks.
2 classes per week - Ideal recommendation
Students will progress 2x faster than once-a-week students since the additional training time allows for greater knowledge and retention during training.
Private Classes - (working 1 on 1 with an instructor)
Students will progress an additional 3-5x faster.
IS THERE A FAMILY DISCOUNT?
Yes. Each additional immediate family member receives 30% off their program prices.
